French Macarons

The French Macaron is dainty, sweet and light—and is also an increasingly popular wedding dessert table option, says Jesse Heap of Pink Cake Box in Denville, NJ. Macarons (not to be confused with the very different macaroon) are constructed of two light meringue cookies sandwiched with a buttercream, ganache or preserves filling. Best of all: The color palette of macarons is versatile and can be modified to match the décor of the wedding, bride’s dress, etc.
