If you’re depending on American Airlines to fly you from the mid-States, plan on connecting through St. Martin, where you could conceivably take a ferry out to either St. Barths or Anguilla. Both these islands are safe, beautiful and super-romantic. Anguilla is quiet, while St. Barths has a bar and restaurant scene. And note that, in any of these destinations, prices for off-peak season drop as much as 50%.
