Personalization

Even though you don’t have David Tutera planning your big day, there are plenty of ways to make your wedding a one-of-a-kind affair. One idea is having a wedding cake that not only tastes delicious, but can also help showcase your event’s theme, colors and style. “Wedding cakes are one of the main focal points of any affair and have really been in the spotlight in the last few years,” says cake designer Brian Fishman, owner of Sweet Karma Desserts in East Meadow, NY. “Most couples realize this and are trying to outdo the last bride and groom.”

“Cakes are larger in size, less adorned, but more personalized,” says Fishman. “Larger monograms, silhouettes of the couple, personalized sayings or even writing out their vows in buttercream on the tiers of the cake are the latest requests from brides and grooms.” This creation features simple tiers accented with black ribbon/ bow and a large monogram, accented with vibrant red roses.
