Back when she was a girl, Princess Elizabeth fell in love with a Welsh Corgi puppy—the beginning of her lifelong love for the Corgi breed. Whether traveling between Buckingham Palace, Sandringham, Balmoral or Windsor Castle, Queen Elizabeth II always has her Corgis. In fact, it’s hard to find a photo of her at home without one of these short and tough canines somewhere close.
Today, the Queen has an estimated 10 Corgis. According to some accounts she personally prepares each of their meals, mixing them to each dog’s particular taste. Of course, she also has Labrador retrievers and spaniels, but none steal the spotlight like the Welsh Corgis.
