The gimmick: Always misplacing your digital camera's USB connector cord? The Eye-Fi allows you to upload photos to your computer or favorite social networking site (like Flickr) wirelessly.

What the experts say: "The Eye-Fi works flawlessly," writes Gizmodo. "You simply snap pics in the range of your router, and chances are, by the time you go back to your computer, the pictures will be viewable." WIRED agrees, saying, "it's a snap to upload photos once you return home or to a known network. Simply turn on the camera and Eye Fi does all the rest."

Upside: The card has built-in geotagging and hotspot support for more than a dozen online photo services like Flickr, Facebook, and Typepad, not to mention Wal-Mart and Cosco photo centers.

Downside: Eye-Fi offers lower priced versions, but you'll have to shell out $129 for the top-of-the-line Eye-Fi Explore. However, the price includes a year of hotspot access.
