North Shore Animal League: Sponsor a Pet in Need: Lady Harmony

Lady Harmony joined the Animal League's Sponsor Program in 2008. This beautiful, adult black cat, who is between 10-11 years old, has diabetes and requires insulin shots twice a day (the levels of the insulin will eventually change to adjust to her blood-glucose levels). To keep this condition under control and monitored properly, she will require regular monthly checkups. In addition to the diabetes, the Animal League's veterinarians also found bladder stones and a history of urinary tract infections. We actually suspect that her bladder stones were previously misdiagnosed as a urinary tract infection by her former veterinarian. Lady Harmony will need a cystotomy operation to remove the stones, and is expected to recover fully from it within three to four months. Lady Harmony is a wonderfully warm and loving cat. She enjoys getting her head scratched and being spoken to in a soft, soothing voice. With treatment, her prognosis is good and she will be able to have a wonderful quality of life.
