Not for just any household, this pet, when fully grown, will probably require its own private game reserve. Then again, for $140,000, you knew it would have to catch more than mice. White lion cubs are very difficult to obtain and are considered endangered—hence the high price—and the majority in the U.S. are found in zoos. Not an actual subspecies, White lions are the result of a recessive gene, bred by a selective process requiring male and female lions carrying the gene, and locals in its native South Africa believed they had divine powers. They are rarely found in the wild, possibly because hunters have always had an easy time spotting them.
