Patti is a stay-at-home mom in Denver, Colorado. She has two kids and spends her time taking them to school, doing chores, running the household. It’s hard to imagine her as anything but a typical mom. But before she settled down to normal family life, Patti was a heavy metal groupie and a queen of the 1980s LA scene. She worked for Van Halen, was Billy Idol’s lover, and was always searching for her ultimate rock god, Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx. She started out as a normal high school student in Michigan but one fateful day in 1981, Patti met the manager of Van Halen. She demonstrated a willingness to do just about anything to meet the band, and soon found herself on tour with them. She was 17 years old, and her groupie career was already well on its way. After joining up with Van Halen, Patti jumped head first into the rock scene. She moved to LA and got a job at the legendary Rainbow Bar & Grill in Hollywood. Patti never got tired of life in the fast lane, but eventually Patti did slow down. By the early 90s, with a husband and a baby, she decided that Hollywood was not a good place to start a family. Today Patti is still a happily married woman – but she loves to go backstage and relive past glories. In Patti’s opinion, you never stop being a groupie. It’s all about the love of the music, and the desire to be close to the people who make it. And to be a groupie is to be a member of a special sisterhood. Watch the Video >>
