| As a young, successful 20-something living in St. Petersburg, Russia, Tanya was finding it difficult to find love. So Tanya decided to answer an ad she found in a local newspaper advertising "love in America." Within months found herself in America marrying the man she says is the love of her life. Tanya’s American prince charming is a man named John, founder of "A Foreign Affair," a service devoted to pairing men with women from around the world. Today, Tanya and John run "A Foreign Affair" together, and have converted it from a fledgling dating service to the leading international marriage agency in the country. Tanya says there’s a misconception about marriage services, people think that somehow she and her husband are selling women on the Internet. But Tanya likes to think of themselves as "international matchmakers." And if anyone has doubts, she’s living proof that it works. Tanya will admit that finding love abroad does have its unique problems, but she hopes that people will open their minds to mail order brides and realize that it’s just another option for people to find true love.
