My secret was blown wide open when I started The Plastics, a club, school and organization for groupies. Despite the stereotypes that mainstream society has towards groupies, I can only say that it has been nothing but positive for me. Rock n’ roll and the people who create it served as my friends when I had few, my mentors when other elders failed me, and my lovers when no one else wanted me. Being a groupie not only changed my life, it IS my life. Not only did my lifestyle provide a family for me but eventually became a springboard for my career. I continue to model, write music reviews for publications, photograph bands, and run The Plastics. I literally eat, sleep, and breathe music. The Plastics currently have over 50 chapters worldwide and are accepting new applications all the time at www.myspace.com/backstage_plastics. I have recently reconstructed my chapter and look forward to premiering our hot all new line-up! I’ve also gained control of the Plastics T-shirt line so people all over the world can buy them directly from me on our MySpace page. The girls and I are looking forward to expanding The Plastics name anyway we can. It is far time that the good name of the groupie be cleared and people understand what it truly means to be one. We are not the girls trading blow jobs for backstage passes or posting about our sexual experiences with rock stars on websites and "penis charts." We are also not the up and coming models, actresses, or porn stars looking to land a celebrity in hopes of furthering our own careers. These kind of girls are called "starfuckers." Real groupies do what they do for the love of music. We are the girls that inspired such films as "Almost Famous." We are the girls whose passion for music runs so deep that we desire to be a part of it on as many levels as possible. Do some of us have sexual relationships with the rock stars we love? We sure do! But we do so with mutual respect. We don't give out personal info or talk about things we are asked not to. Groupies are the girls that will promote you when you are new and struggling, that will drive 6 hours in extreme weather conditions to see your show, and that will be there to lend a breast to cry on when your current model/actress/porn star dumps you. Our love is unconditional and we are there to help out any way we can. Art, love, friendship, and sex is a spiritual experience to us. We are there because our lives were changed. We are there for the love of music and the religion of rock n' roll!! |
