Twist Of Fate
This report tells the stories of Adriana Scott of Long Island, N.Y. and Tamara Rabi of New York City. These identical twins born in Guadalajara, Mexico, were raised in different homes, and reunited by chance twenty years later. Curious to learn why the girls were separated at birth, Adriana, Tamara and their adoptive mothers traveled to Guadalajara in search of the twins' birth mother, Norma De La Cruz. De La Cruz claims that she was coerced into giving up the twins and did not want them to be raised separately. Includes an interview with Nancy Segal, a researcher who has interviewed 50 sets of identical twins who were separated at birth. Also included are interviews with four sets of twins -- Tom Patterson and Steve Tazumi, Daphne Goodship and Barbara Herbert, Debbie Mehlman and Sharon Poset, and Roger Brooks and Tony Milasi -- identical twins separated at birth, adopted and raised by different kinds of families.
