Linda was born and raised in Buffalo, NY but has also spent quality time in Japan over the years thanks to her Japanese mother. She is quite fluent in Japanese and has also studied Russian and Italian. She hopes to master French someday as her newly married younger sister now lives in France. She has one more baby sister who recently moved to LA, leaving her parents to hold down the fort in her hometown. She moved to NY almost 7 years ago with her partner in tow, hoping to start a new life. She cut her teeth in the bridal world when a stint as Ready to Wear manager at Vera Wang inevitably led to the bridal division. After a few years at Vera Wang, an ex coworker introduced her to Amsale's world. She was immediately smitten and then recruited, and has been working there ever since.
After a whirlwind courtship that culminated in a memorable marriage proposal at the Sacre Coeur in Paris, she married Kyle Hansen, a native Wisconsinite she met soon after he moved to NYC from Seattle. The gown she wore to her own wedding almost 2 years ago was a Kenneth Pool gown from the final collection designed by Austin Scarlett and re-imagined with her own vision. Although it rained buckets her entire wedding day, Linda was ridiculously happy to see her family and friends from over the years converge at her wedding. To cap it off, the after party was at her favorite dive bar in the world, The Pink Flamingo. In her little white dress and her cage veil, she got to kiss her single life goodbye and look forward to being a newlywed in New York City. Presently she is living in Gowanus, Brooklyn with her husband and their 2 cats, Ace and Gary.
Linda finds that there's never a dull moment working at Amsale. Between constantly learning more about human nature, family dynamics, bridal trends, and a myriad other things that relate to what happens there, she gets to use her brain, her heart, her instincts and good old common sense on a daily basis. What other job gives you that? Even when it's not fun, she always finds it interesting. And never mind that she gets to work with some of the most beautiful creations in all of bridal! Linda feels blessed to work with such a wonderful crew. She loves being their therapist, friend, drinking buddy, and comrade in arms.
