How long have you’re been dreaming of your wedding day and what was/is your Dream Wedding? I’ve been dreaming of this wedding since I was about 7 years old. I remember when I use to play with my Barbies, pretending Ken was my prince charming and how he would whisk me away to his beautiful castle and we would live happily ever after. When I was younger Disneyland would been my dream wedding, getting married in the snow white castle. But since reality comes in to play, with my real wedding we just can't afford it. As for my Prince Charming, he’s a rough tough tattooed man that stole my heart from the first kiss. Now for my castle, it’s turned into a old movie theater and we’ve decided were now doing an amazing 1920’s theatrical wedding, with more of a non-traditional feel. I want this wedding to be fun for everyone, and with all the fun dances were doing , the photo booth, the Social Distortion cover band and the candy bar, I can't image it not being the most amazing wedding you could ever image. And I will live happily ever after.
Who’s paying for your wedding? We’re paying for most of it on our own but we do have some help from our families.
What happens if you go over budget? He flips out and demands to know why we're over. And then starts taking people off the guest count.
Did you hire a wedding planner? How are they doing? Yes. She's amazing! She helps me relax and stop stressing.
How helpful has the groom been (or not) in the planning process? He’s been helpful, maybe too helpful. He’s too focused on every little detail. He drives me crazy. He changes his mind about everything, including the cake three times and the guest count three times. He’s a groomzilla.
Tell us about your family. How have they been involved in the planning process?
Mom- My mom is so sweet. She’s been trying to help, but my non-traditional wedding is a huge issue with her.The last conversion with her, I was excited to let her know I booked a caterer for the wedding and it’s a well-known taco truck. She was so upset saying she knows a lady that can do it for $600. But, I’m paying for the name.
Dad- Where to start with my Dad? He thinks everything is so funny and a big joke. He always make inappropriate jokes at the worst times and always pisses my mom off. Their responsibility is paying for the dress.
Sister- My sister is my Maid of Honor. She is in charge of the Bridal shower and Bachelorette party. She is SO bossy I can't stand it and unfortunately she can't ever find a babysitter so we always have screaming kids with us and it drives me crazy.
Brother- My brother is my best friend since we were kids. This guys is always broke, always drunk and always acting a fool. I sometimes don't understand where his common sense went. He’s duties include bachelor party and paying for the cake.
Have you or your groom been married before? Any children? If so, what role will the kids play on the wedding day? No.
What’s the worst thing that could go wrong on your wedding day? My husband and and groomsmen to get too drunk and ruin the entire wedding.
Define the type a bride you will be: Controlling, Demanding, Neurotic, or laid back. Please give us examples: If I had to choose I would say Controlling, but according to my fiancée, I’m demanding, emotional and neurotic. haha! For example, I freak out and call wedding off. I just stress out. Another example: I called my Maid of Honor and asked her a question about her dress and why she hadn’t bought it yet. She got upset and hung up.
What disagreements have come up about the wedding? What hasn't come up!? This guy wants this party (wedding) to be all about him. We’ve disagreed about the music. I don't want some wanna-be-rapper raping at my wedding. Second, the food. He thinks that everyone should be honored to come to our wedding and doesn't need to eat. We got a candy bar because he says what grown adults needs is candy. And finally, his suit. He won't try one on because it's football season and now spring training and next baseball season.UGHH
Has the engagement/wedding ever been called off, or in jeopardy? If so, what happened and how did it get resolved? Of course. I just got upset about him being so relaxed and told him I was calling the wedding off so he could get married to himself. But he promised to take things seriously.
