How long have you been dreaming of your wedding day?: I have always envisioned a fairytale experience. Every woman wants to feel like a princess, and for me the wedding day is when every woman should get that chance! An over-the-top gown, glamorous jewelry, big hair and designer shoes are all things that come to mind when I envision my ideal wedding day.
Wedding Budget: My parents did not give us an intial budget. They did however try to sneak one in at the last minute about six months before the wedding. Needless to say, we have gone over their suggested budget by at least $10,000. Honestly I have stopped keeping track.
Who’s Paying for the Wedding? The bride's parents are paying for everything except the photographer and honeymoon.
What happens if you go over budget? We have gone over budget already and it is not good. Thankfully I am looking for DIY projects that can help cut costs some. However I tend to find DIY projects that end up being almost as expensive as getting it done professionally, simply because I keep trying to make the projects look great. I don't want standard decor, so I end up spending more money because I want it to be perfect.
How helpful has the groom been (or not) in the planning process? I have tried to get him as involved as possible, however, I am running the show here! I have a very specific vision for our wedding, and he is a bit more on the simple side. So he is not good with planning details. He is better with looking at the financial aspect rather than design elements. I wish he understood how stressful the planning process is. It is a full time job for me, but I sometimes feel as though he doesn't see it that way. That is likely because he isn't the one putting it together. He does go to meetings with me though, and lately he has been responsible about setting up appointments and taking phone calls.
Have you or your groom been married before? Any children? If so, what role will the kids play on the wedding day? No.
What’s the worst thing that could go wrong on your wedding day? Just thinking about the possibility of something going wrong makes me cringe. I think it would be upsetting if people don't follow my orders on the day of the wedding. If they don't, heads will roll! and yes I am serious. I did not spend every waking moment planning this wedding for someone to slack off and get something wrong. I pray that my wedding party can get it together, support me and stop causing stress in my life! After all, it is my wedding day!
Define the type a bride you will be: Controlling, Neurotic, Demanding, Emotional or Laid Back? I see myself being very emotional. I am always breaking down about something due to wedding stress. I like to be spoiled and I am very vocal about it. I am an admitted complainer and I love it! I like to get my way and if things don't go my way you will get an ear full of complaints, tears and a lot of "Why me?" I am very hands on, so I will be looking over everyones shoulder to make sure they get things done my way.
