Australian-born Julian McMahon is best recognized by American television audiences for his role as Detective John Grant on the NBC drama Profiler. His other television work includes the daytime drama Another World.
McMahon has appeared in the feature films Women In Control, Magenta and In Quiet Night.

His modeling work led him to be cast as the lead in an Australian nighttime television continuing drama. After working on the series for 18 months, he starred on another Australian hit series Home And Away, for which he received a Best Actor Award from a national magazine.
After appearing in a musical stage production of Home And Away in England and a production of Love Letters in Sydney and Melbourne, McMahon was offered the lead role in the feature film Exchange Lifeguards, also starring Elliot Gould. He then went to Los Angeles to
read for American projects and in 1992 was cast as Ian Rain in Another World.
The son of Sir William McMahon, the former Priminster of Australia (1971-72), Julian McMahon now resides in Los Angeles where he enjoys surfing, biking and "cooking anything."
