Mortality Bites

The witches use their powers to keep a dog from pooping in their yard.
Instead the dog poops on its owner. Phoebe has an eery premonition of being
executed after seeing baseball player Cal Greene on TV. The witches agree to
consult the Book of Shadows. They find a spell to take them to the future and
back.
Piper suddenly wakes on the couch, and is confused when a little girl,
Melinda, calls her “mom.” Piper realizes she has landed in her future body.
Melinda leaves for school, and a blonde Prue arrives. Prue and Piper turn on the
TV and learn that Phoebe is being executed for murdering Cal Greene. Nathaniel
Pratt addresses the crowd, vowing to destroy all witches.
Piper and Prue realize the Book of Shadows is missing, but find a key to
Prue’s safe at work. The girls head downtown where they encounter Leo, and
Piper realizes she and Leo have since married and divorced. Leo explains Phoebe
murdered Cal Greene after Cal killed someone Phoebe was close to.
Prue and Piper want to rescue Phoebe, but Leo warns that Nathaniel Pratt
doesn’t know they are witches. They must stay clear of Phoebe, who is shocked
when Pratt announces her execution is nearing. When Leo arrives at her cell,
Phoebe recalls electrocuting Cal.
Leo returns and tells the witches that Phoebe must die in order to protect
the greater good. The sisters refuse to let Phoebe die and sneak off to the prison.
But, they are too late as Phoebe is lead to a flaming pyre by the guards.
Piper and Prue use their powers to stop time and free Phoebe. But Phoebe
refuses to leave, saying she must be punished for her crimes. Phoebe is burned at
the stake and Piper and Prue are returned to the present. Just as they are about
to keep the dog from pooping in their yard, Phoebe realizes this is the moment
they were supposed to change-- when they first used their powers for revenge.
