The witches learn who the demon is that has been
Prue and Piper reference the Book of Shadows to find a potion that would kill the demon BELTHAZOR. At a cemetery, Belthazor stumbles into a mausoleum and morphs into Cole. KRELL, a menacing demon, tracks Cole/Belthazor and tries to kill him as well. Cole senses that Krell and is following him and dodges him.
Prue and Piper continue to focus on how to vanquish Belthazor while Phoebe tries to get in contact with Cole. Despite Prue’s and Piper’s objection, Phoebe leaves to go find him. Meanwhile in a dark alley, Cole drops his coat and runs off after he thinks Krell is right on his tail. It’s actually a homeless man who picks up the coat and keeps it for himself.
Piper and Prue accidentally summon Krell and try to kill him instead of Belthazor. They eventually find out that Krell is a bounty hunter hired to kill Belthazor. Although neither Piper nor Prue trust Krell, they still agree to work in cahoots with him because Krell can track Belthazor by the scent of his blood in his demonic state (as Belthazor, not Cole).
Phoebe finds Cole at his apartment, badly wounded. She calls Leo in hopes that he’ll heal Cole, even though it’s against the rules to heal a mortal that wasn’t harmed by a demon. While healing Cole, a while light shimmers from Cole’s wound and throws Leo into a wall. Leo now suspects that Cole is Belthazor and tries to convince Phoebe of the same, but she refuses to believe it. He then orbs back out so Cole and Phoebe can be alone together.
After researching all she could, Prue concludes that Krell is truthful and she and Piper follow Krell into the alley where he’s tracked Belthazor’s scent. They find nothing but the coat that the homeless man wears, but Prue recognizes the coat as belonging to Cole. Back at the manor, Leo orbs in to find out that Prue and Piper already suspect Cole as being Belthazor. They all head back to Cole’s place.
Cole is about to tell Phoebe who he really is when Prue, Piper, Leo, and Krell rush into his apartment. Cole quickly morphs into Belthazor and takes Phoebe away as his hostage with a weapon in hand. Krell convinces Prue to give him the potion so he can go vanquish Belthazor and safely return Phoebe home.
At a cemetery, Cole lets Phoebe go and tries to explain to her that he’s half human, half demon and was initially sent to kill all three of the sisters, but couldn’t after he fell in love with Phoebe. Phoebe doesn’t believe him until Krell orbs in and is about to kill her. Cole kills him before he can touch Phoebe. She now believes him, but Piper and Prue probably will not, as she hears their distant voices coming closer to the mausoleum. Phoebe takes Cole’s sweater and drops it on the ground. She then cuts his hand and drips some blood droplets on it. She tells him to leave and he does. She then pours the potion on the sweater, watching it explode. When Piper and Prue get inside the mausoleum, Phoebe tells them that she intends to kill Cole. Piper and Prue have no reason to doubt her.
