The Primrose Empath
Prue admits she is worried about Belthazor and has been practicing trying to use telekinesis in ‘astral mode’. A foreman tries to demolish a building but won’t because VINCE, a recluse, is too afraid to leave the building. Prue goes to get Vince to vacate the building and finds out that he refuses to leave the apartment because outside of it, he can feel everyone’s pain. He proves it by stating he feels the pain that Prue’s toothache is causing her.
With Cole, Prue tells the other sisters about Vince and Cole offers to make a few calls to help Vince find another place to live. In the other room, Leo tells the sisters that Vince is probably an EMPATH, a person who feels what others feel. Cole comes in and tells them that a friend from the Housing Authority has found Vince another place to live if he voluntarily leaves the current apartment.
At a psychiatric hospital, FATHER THOMAS reads a newspaper about Vince not leaving the building and begs a nurse to let him out so he can protect the innocent. At the apartment, Prue finds Vince still curled up on the floor. He still refuses to budge, so she sets an empath spell just before the deputies come in to arrest Vince. He now feels pain-free and thanks her as she leaves. Once out of sight, Vince kills the deputy.
Vince thanks Cole/Belthazor for sending him Prue and that the plan went smoothly. Vince tells him that Prue should be feeling everyone’s pain in no time at all, so now he can concentrate on tracking down Father Thomas, the man who originally cursed him.
Prue slowly starts to see the effects of empath and thinks the spell she cast upon Vince may have backfired, but still believes she was guided to Vince for a purpose. Meanwhile, Vince harasses a church secretary, still looking for Thomas. She eventually tells him that Thomas is at a psychiatric hospital.
Prue’s pain is getting worse so Piper and Phoebe go out to try to find Vince. Leo explains that only a true Empath could have given that kind of power that acts as a curse on a demon. Just then, Phoebe is struck with a premonition that the demon is on a killing spree. It’s leading her to a mental hospital.
Father Thomas seems uninterested until Piper mentions they are looking for the Empath who cursed a demon. Thomas believes that you can’t ever stop the empath once it is free. He also tells them that the Empath is immune to any witches’ power. Phoebe figures that since Prue’s powers are tied to her emotions then maybe she can channel them.
Vince finds them and goes after Phoebe. Piper tries her powers on him, but they are useless. Thomas convinces Piper to work with his prayer power to combat Vince. Vince is thrown off-guard, then Prue’s ‘astral mode’ kicks and easily defeats Vince. After Vince is destroyed, she is now pain-free again.
