Wrestling With Demons
Detective Morris tries to convince a MR. CHANG to accept police protection because they fear his life is in danger after a series of murders have taken place. Chang refuses and leaves the station. He doesn’t get far before a fireball is launched at his back, but Prue, Piper, and Phoebe rescue Chang just in time. Prue goes after the being that sent the fireball towards Chang, but lets the being go after she realizes that she used to date him.
Prue shows Morris a photo of TOM PETERS, the being that almost killed Chang, and Morris remembers Tom as a promising football player that went south due to a gambling problem. Leo orbs in and tells them that Tom may be a part of a training program where humans are recruited to become demons if they kill an innocent victim. Prue believes that Tom can be saved before he kills an innocent, so she exits to find FRAN, Tom’s mother.
Tom enters a building to see KELLMAN push a CLIENT into a magical elevator because he can’t pay off a debt. Kellman then chastises Tom for not killing an innocent yet, but Tom tells him that a witch intervened. He gives Tom a new innocent to kill. Meanwhile, the sisters receive a newspaper that clues them as to whom Tom’s next victim will be. They head off to locate the woman and save her just in time by freezing her, the fireball, and Tom. Instead of vanquishing Tom, they bring him back to the manor to find out more about the recruiting.
Phoebe tells Piper about Cole not being dead, and Piper tells her to tell Prue. Prue sits with Tom and finds out that he’s one chevron away from becoming a demon, so Prue tries to get Tom to remember his past, but he doesn’t remember a thing. He orders her to kill him now or he will kill her later. Instead, she lets him escape in order to track his headquarters. Because Tom hasn’t killed an innocent yet, Kellman figures that Tom is becoming deprogrammed as a potential demon and sentences him to the elevator.
