Sympathy For The Demon
Cole has random flashes of people around him temporarily turning into demons.
Barbas summons him to accept his fate as an evil being, but Cole clearly wants to fight
it. He turns to the sisters and begs them to help him get rid of the evil powers because
he’s afraid that he’ll really hurt someone. Barbas whispers discreetly into everyone’s
ear, literally playing the devil’s advocate, eventually getting everyone to agree not to
help Cole.
In purgatory, VICTOR, a man sentenced there, has helped Barbas project from
purgatory in order to get into the minds of others. Victor tries to hurry Barbas into
helping him leave hell, but Barbas tells Victor that he must wait for the sisters to agree
unanimously about not wanting to help Cole before he can get Victor out. Paige is the
last person remaining that wants to help Cole and makes a potion to rid him of his
powers, so he won’t hurt Phoebe. Barbas gets in his Cole’s head and convinces him to
take the potion. The moment he does, Barbas appears, taking Cole’s powers. As a
mortal, Cole tells the sisters that Barbas probably plans on reorganizing the underworld
and becoming an almost unstoppable power source. On earth with Victor, he tells
Victor that he only wants revenge on the sisters and will consider the underworld
secondary.
Leo takes Cole away in order to keep him safe while the sisters figure out a way to
vanquish Barbas. They feel that Paige would be the best fighter because she’s the only
one to not conquer her deepest fear, the only way to beat Barbas. Meanwhile, the
sisters agitate Barbas into concentrating on them rather than trying to put together the
underworld. The trap works but they aren’t able to vanquish him, so he traps them into
their house, making them face their new fears. They decide to make a potion to give
Cole his powers back because he’ll be the only one that could use them effectively on
Barbas. Before that happens, Phoebe hallucinates that Barbas took Paige and kills
him, but in reality she kills Paige.
Piper helps Phoebe face her fears, then the walls start to open up allowing Leo to enter
with Cole. Leo heals Paige back to life and they all get ready to give Cole his evil back,
but Barbas comes in and breaks up the party. Paige helps Cole get the potion and after
he takes it, he vanquishes Barbas. He then orbs out, knowing that the sisters and Leo
