Piper is throwing a baby shower at P3 for friend Wendy. While baking cookies for the shower Phoebe questions Piper about having a baby; after all, they saw a daughter for her and Leo in the future. Cole appears and says there is a Chameleon Demon in the house. Cole tells the sisters that The Source has been using the Chameleon in the house to gather information about them. They see a lamp that does not belong in the house and the Chameleon appears and starts to fight. He is defeated momentarily. Cole says they must find him to find out what The Source’s plan is to destroy The Charmed Ones.
Piper joins her friends at P3 for the baby shower despite Phoebe’s urging that she stay back and help look for the demon. Piper is determined to pursue a more normal and human life with her friends, maybe then she and Leo can consider having a child of their own. Paige and Phoebe stay behind to scry for the demon.
Down below The Source confronts the Chameleon and calls him a failure. He wants more information about The Charmed Ones’ hopes in order to trick one of them into giving up her powers, and then ultimately the power of all three. The Source decides to carry on alone and kills the Chameleon Demon taking over his likeness. He asks The Oracle which sister seems most vulnerable and The Oracle points out Piper.
At the shower Piper’s friends remind her how unavailable she has been over the past three or four years. Leo shows up and says Piper must leave right away, the others have found the demon’s location. Back at the house Leo advises them not to vanquish the demon right away but to get information from him. Piper suggests offering The Source a deal of peace; no more going after each other and then the sisters can get on with their human lives; she believes they have saved enough innocents to fulfill their destiny. She is convinced ultimately to go after this demon with the sisters.
In the alley, where the demon was detected, the Chameleon attacks Piper and takes her away. She wakes up to ‘Leo’ telling her she had one of her typical episodes and threw herself against a wall; Piper is in a sanitarium and Leo is one of her doctors. Halliwell manor has been transformed into Halliwell Hospital. The Source/Chameleon Demon is there but is the head psychiatrist of the institution. He and Leo explain to Piper that she is not a witch, she has no powers and that the past few years have been a figment of her imagination.
Down below The Oracle and The Source are working on a hypnotized Piper channeling the sanitarium scenario into her brain. The Oracle warns The Source that the amount of power he is using will weaken him greatly.
