Saving Private Leo
The daily chaos in the house frustrates Phoebe as she tries to find some peace and quiet in which to work. Cole is behind the disturbances and creates more to persuade Phoebe they need a place of their own. Piper wants to attend the anniversary celebration of the union battle in which Leo died; he refuses to attend.
Two ghost brothers, Rick and Nathan, are on the lookout for Leo at the veteran’s hall and find his home address when they come across Piper’s RSVP card. Paige sees one of the ghost brothers in the house and confuses him with her ability to see him. The brothers are angry with Leo for having taken on a human form and life. Piper signed the response card as if Leo were the grandson of the veteran, further angering the ghost brothers; they are hell bent on making Leo pay for a past mistake.
Cole hires demon ‘Julie’ as his new assistant to serve as a cover while he continues to work on breaking apart the sisters. Piper and Paige finally confront Leo about Rick and Nathan after the ghosts attempt to kill him. Leo explains that he and Nathan were childhood friends who enlisted together. During a combat mission Nathan was shot and Rick brought him to Leo for help. Leo got him to the field nurse but then left to continue helping others. Rick felt staying and helping his friend should have been more important to Leo than helping anyone else. A bomb hit the field hospital shelter just as Leo left and Rick and Nathan were killed. Leo has always felt he should have died with them and that all the good he ever did, including the lives he saved to earn his Medal of Honor, meant nothing.
Cole shows Phoebe his firm’s corporate apartment suite and convinces her to move in together.
As Leo rushes to the aid of one of his charges Nathan and Rick appear and stab the woman. They have decided to work against Leo being a White-Lighter and make it their mission to hurt him by killing his charges and making him watch – including Piper. They force Leo to watch the woman die; Leo’s emotions run high and his powers are gone.
Tension mounts between the sisters when Phoebe announces her decision to live more normally with Cole in their own apartment. Piper excuses her and declares she and Paige will take care of Leo alone. Paige knows the situation is urgent and goes after Phoebe while Piper works on the necessary potion. Nathan and Rick attack and stab Piper and then stay to watch her dying. Phoebe and Paige arrive and try to resuscitate their sister and call for Leo. Leo appears and reminds the brothers that their fight is with him, not The Charmed Ones. Piper’s ghost emerges from her body and says the spell that vanquishes the ghost brothers. Once the brothers are gone Leo regains his powers and heals Piper.
