For Jackie Tranchida, it all started with her mother's video camera and some pint-size ambition. Her "career" began at age nine, with the play-by-play of daily mishaps on family vacations and the all too often Florida hurricanes. She hails from South Florida, and she still hasn't gotten used to winter.
Over the years, Jackie has bounced around the country reporting in subzero temperatures and KELO-TV in Sioux Falls, paying her dues at MTV in New York City and The Oprah Winfrey Show in Chicago. After graduating from Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism, Jackie knew she wanted to make the Windy City her home and "Metromix" on the CLTV is where she got her big break. There, she was the gal who brought viewers the nightly updates and on the hip happenings in Chicago -- and her stories on Bears Tailagates, sword fighting and Segways earned her an Emmy.
Next, Jackie took a bite out of the Big Apple. She was the lucky gal who got to see, wear and taste New York's finest for LX.TV's "1st Look" on NBC. Most recently, she's been the companion to your morning cup of coffee on Good Day Sacramento. During the week, you watched her rappel 40+ stories over the San Francisco skyline and get "friendly" with the local law enforcement. ON the weekends, Jackie took her seat behind the anchor desk and let four hours of live shenanigans ensue.
And on a lighter note... Jackie is a great parallel parker when no one is watching, she likes to listen to the radio on scan, and raisins are the only food she doesn't eat. For more, click here.
