About David Thornton
David is the glue that holds the Lauper / Thornton family together. While Cyndi is often traveling the world for work, David keeps the Connecticut home in check. David is the straight man to Cyndi’s over-the-top personality, but always keeps her laughing with his wry sense of humor.
David is a classically trained actor who graduated from Yale Drama School. He can be seen in hit films such as: The Notebook, John Q, A Civil Action, The Last Days of Disco, High Art, She's So Lovely, and Illuminata. On stage, David last performed in the New Group's American premiere of Joe Penhall's 'Some Voices', and is a recipient of a Dramalogue award for the Los Angeles production of Quincy Long's 'The Johnstown Vindicator'. David has been a recurring guest star on Law an Order Criminal Intent, and Law and Order.
However, David’s most prominent role to date has been loving yet stern dad and best friend to 15-year-old Declyn, Cyndi and his son.
