Season 2, Episode 9
“Talk To Her”
Todd and Laura decide to see a marriage counselor to make sure they're on the right path. Bailey struggles to find a way to take her senior pictures, and the family becomes worried about Bailey's new boyfriend.
Laura tries to convince Todd that they should go see a family counselor to talk about some of the financial disagreements they've been having lately, such as Todd's decision to buy a truck without consulting Laura. Todd doesn't feel that they need to go, because why fix what's not broken? But Laura insists, and Todd relents and agrees to go.
Meanwhile, Bailey discovers that senior pictures are astronomically expensive. What is she to do? She's a senior and it's a rite of passage. Heather's mom is paying for hers, so Bailey is left to fend for herself. During their counseling sessions, Todd and Laura discover some cracks in their relationship, and that their financial situation may be taking more of a toll on their ability to communicate than either of them realized. Bailey goes on a double date with Levi to Flagstaff to go sledding. The kids have a great time and Bailey and her crush become an official couple.
The next day, Danielle offers to take Bailey's senior pictures for her in the backyard, but in Bailey's opinion the pictures are a disaster. Just when she's lost all hope, Laura says that Aunt Debbie can come out and take the senior pictures for Bailey. After soccer practice one day, Heather reveals that she's disappointed in her little part-time community college scholarship because other girls on her high school team are getting full-rides to four-year colleges. Aunt Debbie arrives and takes Bailey to the park for a fun and emotional photo shoot, during which she notices some bruises on Bailey's arm. Bailey says it’s nothing, just the bumper boats from her date the other night. But after a call from Levi, Laura comes home to discover that the bruises are not from bumper boats.
Some of the family wants to confront Bailey’s new boyfriend, leaving Bailey pleading through her tears for them not to go anywhere.
