After suffering a severe asthma attack, Rex spends four nights in intensive care. He is released from the hospital and is welcomed home by his family but is told to take it easy. Rex gets pampered with his favorite meals and extra attention from mom but the homecoming is bitter sweet as Laura and Todd worry that their insurance may not cover Rex’s hospital stay. Laura worries they will now have to retract the bid they just put down on a house -- since they might get slapped with a $25,000 medical bill.
Later, the teens find themselves stranded in the parking lot with a dead battery. When they finally make it back home, late for curfew, it’s to face an angry Todd. Later, Todd loses out on his bid to the house flipper, leaving him despodent. But it's Laura that recieves the real whopper of bad news…Insurance WILL NOT cover Rex’s asthma and the family owes $25,000 in medical bills.
