Death Becomes Him
Frasier is upset when his father Martin skips out on a doctor’s appointment. To ensure that Martin gets a physical, Frasier personally escorts him to a doctor referred by Niles. Impatient with the long wait in the doctor’s reception room, Frasier is stunned when the receptionist receives word that the doctor, who’s Frasier’s age, has died suddenly of a heart attack.
A distraught Frasier begins to contemplate his own mortality. He calls the family together to discuss his personal affairs, and tries to rationalize the doctor’s death by asking his widow about her late husband’s life.
To his dismay, Frasier learns that the doctor was a health fanatic whose death came as a complete shock to his family. Frasier ends up comforting the grieving widow, but as he is leaving, his spirits are lifted by an attractive woman who slips him her phone number and tells him to call her.
