Star Mitzvah
Frasier’s son Frederick is having his Bar Mitzvah in Boston and asks Frasier to give a short speech at the ceremony. Frasier is delighted and wants to learn it in Hebrew.
Noel, a fanatic Trekkie, agrees to teach Frasier Hebrew if he attends a sci-fi convention to get Scott Bakula’s autograph for him. He needs it to complete his collection but William Shatner has a restraining order against him. Frasier doesn’t make it to the convention on time and comes back empty-handed. Noel spitefully agrees to tutor Frasier anyway and gets his revenge by teaching him the speech in Klingon instead of Hebrew.
While Frasier is in Boston, Noel finds the “perfect” gift of appreciation from him—a wig worn in a “Star Trek” episode. Noel is immediately guilt-ridden and desperate to contact Frasier before his speech.
During the ceremony, the normally unemotional Lilith gets choked up during her speech and suffers a breakdown because her son is growing up. Then, Frasier delivers what he thinks is a heartfelt prayer in Hebrew. The crowd breaks out in laughter, realizing Frasier just blessed his son in Klingon. Frederick is humiliated, until one of his friends translates it for him and tells him it was a cool speech.
