Trophy Girlfriend
After losing the squash tournament nine years in a row, Niles drops Frasier and teams up with another partner, Jim. At first, Frasier is hurt, but his wounds heal quickly when an attractive gym teacher, Chelsea, asks if he wants to team up for the mixed doubles tournament.
Frasier and Chelsea walk away with the trophy and Frasier is quick to rub it in to Niles. Frasier is ecstatic when Chelsea wants to take their relationship to the next level and they start dating. Frasier stops by the school to pick her up from work and sees her berating one of her students. Suddenly, he’s cursed with flashbacks of his gym teacher, Coach Fuller, yelling at him for not being able to climb a rope. Now, every time he looks at Chelsea he sees Coach Fuller—an unattractive loudmouth man, smoking a cigar and wearing a ball cap and a whistle around his neck.
While Frasier and Chelsea are on a date, he continues to see her as Coach Fuller and can’t escape the horrible imagery. Chelsea questions his standoffish behavior and Frasier finally tells her about his childhood trauma. She gracefully accepts his criticism regarding the negative effects her harsh teaching style may have on kids. Finally, the disturbing images leave his mind and Frasier is relieved; however, the tables turn and now Chelsea sees Frasier as the little girl that she yelled at in class for not being able to climb the rope!
In the meantime, Roz and Julia, the new financial analyst, agree to be civil towards each other to appease their coworkers, but soon find that the only common ground they have is their enjoyment in insulting each other.
