A Man, A Plan, And A Gal: Julia
Frasier has a fallout with Julia, then complains to Niles that he is cursed with a collection of failed romances. An unsympathetic Niles blames him for sabotaging relationships by fixating on women’s faults. Inspired to turn over a new leaf, Frasier takes Niles’ advice and “commits to commitment”.
With a little groveling, Frasier manages to win Julia back and makes a conscious effort to overlook her faults. He invites her over for a romantic evening, forgetting that Daphne and Niles planned a special dinner. Frasier leaves a message for Niles that he can’t make it because he is ill. However, he gets busted when he and Julia emerge from his bedroom and he discovers the dinner was relocated to his place. Julia joins the family for dinner and offends everyone in the room with cutting remarks and inappropriate phone calls.
Daphne and Niles have a sidebar and decide to reschedule their pregnancy announcement due to Julia’s outlandish behavior. Julia overhears their conversation and ruins their surprise by telling Frasier and Martin about the baby. The family is horrified, but Frasier is unfazed by her brashness. During a game of Pictionary, Julia chokes on a peanut and the family looks on unconcerned. Frasier starts to reprimand his family’s callousness until Julia pushes him over the edge with further insults. Frasier finally throws her out and the family celebrates Niles and Daphne’s news.
