Crock Tales
A terra cotta cheese crock becomes a time capsule for Frasier. While preparing a family dinner, Frasier picks up a cheese crock, and his mind is flooded with memories. Like the time in 2003, when Roz tried to fix him up with Lizbeth, who clearly wasn’t his type. As they shook hands goodbye, some glue used to repair the cracked crock got on Frasier’s hands and he literally found himself “stuck on” Lizbeth.
Frasier recalls the time a year earlier when Niles and Daphne first got together around Roz’s birthday. Distracted by his new romance, Niles forgot to buy Roz a present, and hurriedly handed her the cheese crock as his gift. In 1999, Frasier found himself locked out on his patio with Roz, Daphne and Niles because Martin was eating cheese from the crock while wearing headphones that drowned out their cries for help.
He remembers meals in 1998 and 1996 when Niles was ready to declare his love for Daphne, Daphne quit when she thought she was about to be fired, and Frasier’s budding affair with a woman named Evelyn came to a screeching halt after she dumped him. Then there’s 1993, when Martin first bought the crock to replace Frasier’s pricey, exotic cheese with a carrot-colored spreadable substitute. Only the sound of his guests arriving rouses Frasier from his trip down Memory Lane.
