Frasier and his co-workers compete in a KACL weight loss charity event against a rival station for a free trip to Las Vegas. To Frasier’s disgust, the opposing team captain is his old high school nemesis—cheese-ball Wayne Shafter. During the televised weigh in, Frasier’s extra added pound puts the other team ahead. After Wayne rubs it in. Frasier makes a bet with him that his team will win.

Fueled by the bet, Frasier turns into an exercise, pound-shedding maniac and pushes his teammates to the extreme. Operating in starvation mode, Noel keeps fainting, while Roz takes up smoking to curb her appetite. During the last twelve hours, Frasier quarantines his teammates in a steam room and forbids them to eat. At the final weigh-in, Frasier’s team gets on the scale and is losing by two ounces. In a desperate final attempt, Daphne cuts off her ponytail, edging the team to victory.

Meanwhile, Eddie’s new pigeon friend, Barney, slams into the window when Niles accidentally erases the safety smudge mark. After Niles nurses Barney back to health in a shoebox, Martin doesn’t have to the heart to tell him that Barney was Eddie’s afternoon snack.
