Seabee Jeebies
Seattle is fascinated with Maris’s murder case and Niles emerges as a local celebrity, due to his inside connection. Frasier grows increasingly jealous of his brother’s sudden notoriety, especially when Niles rubs elbows with the socially elite, including Bill Gates.
Frasier sets the record for the most SeaBee nominations and sees it as an opportunity to one-up Niles. He arranges for a Seattle Times reporter to do a writeup on him and nearly scores a date with his cute, new neighbor. However, she backs out when Kenny’s procrastination results in an early morning gala. As a last resort, Frasier asks Roz’s “perfect” sister, Denise, to pose as his date.
When Niles shows up at the award show, the reporter flocks to him and ignores Frasier, much to his disgust. Frasier tries to impress with a brilliant opening speech, but gets cut off due to a miscue. The morning only worsens when he loses both nominations, Denise has a breakdown and he unintentionally knocks over the closing announcer, causing his glass eye to fall out. Frasier is forced to fill in and close the show by singing the traditional SeaBee’s song in the midst of pandemonium.
