Death And The Dog
On a slow day at the radio station, Frasier receives a call from a depressed woman who’s having trouble getting out of bed. Frasier decides to relate the caller’s problems to an incident that happened earlier in the week with his father’s dog, Eddie.
After Martin noticed a change in Eddie’s appetite and sleeping habits, he decided to send his four-legged friend to a pet therapist. Instead, Dr. Shaw insisted on coming to the Crane condo to observe how the family’s everyday interactions might have been negatively affecting Eddie. It didn’t take long for Dr. Shaw to announce that Eddie’s depression was a direct result of unhappiness around him, which led to confessions of everyone’s personal anguish. Meanwhile, Eddie found his doll and went back to his old happy self.
As Frasier rambles on about Eddie’s situation, Roz reminds Frasier that he’s still on the air. He then sums up his message to the depressed caller by saying that the best way to be happy is to accentuate the positive.
