Four For The Seesaw
To their delight, Frasier and Niles meet a pair of attractive women during one of their daily coffee breaks at Cafe Nervosa. After a successful double date, Frasier impulsively asks Beth and Laura to spend the weekend with the Crane boys at a country cabin.
Unsure what the women plan to do about sleeping arrangements, Niles and Frasier are thrilled to learn that their guests intend to share their rooms with them. But Niles, who thought he was ready for an intimate relationship after his long separation from Maris, decides he must call Maris and “clear” the idea with her before he proceeds any further with Beth.
Throughout the night, Niles exchanges phone calls with Maris, and repeatedly knocks on Frasier’s bedroom door to talk about his feelings. Niles’s interruptions annoy Frasier and prevent him from consummating his relationship with Laura. Finally, Niles’s neuroses ruin the evening for everyone, and the men wind up sleeping in the living room instead.
