Dial M for Martin
Niles isn’t too thrilled at the prospect of his father moving in – until he realizes that Daphne is part of the package.
Frustrated by his inability to find a new job, Frasier finds himself constantly bickering with Martin. After their latest blow-up, Martin heads to Café Nervosa to cool off and runs into Roz. She thinks Martin and Frasier just need a break and advises Martin to move in with Niles for a while. When Niles hears the news, he’s horrified, but when he realizes that Daphne will be moving in with Martin, he happily agrees to the arrangement.
To everyone’s surprise, Daphne announces that if Martin can negotiate the stairs in Niles’ apartment, he probably doesn’t need full-time care anymore, so she’s decided to find a new job. Meanwhile, Frasier makes plans to share an intimate dinner with Rebecca, a sexy lingerie model.
Shortly after moving into Niles’ place, Martin falls and injures himself, noting that Niles kicked his cane out from under him. Frasier wonders if Niles’ desire to keep Daphne on could have subconsciously driven him to cause the accident. Soon, Martin suspects that Frasier may be right and flees. Daphne and Niles follow him to Frasier’s condo, where Frasier is eager to dismiss them before his date arrives. When Rebecca overhears Frasier coldly kicking everyone out, she’s so disgusted, she leaves. Now that Martin needs her help again, Daphne decides to stay on and they move back in with Frasier.
