Frasier’s Curse
Frasier dreads the idea of attending his high school reunion, which always seems to coincide with a downturn in his life.
Every five years, Frasier’s life hits rock bottom right before he’s supposed to go to his class reunion. This time around, Frasier is unemployed and tells Niles there must be some kind of a curse on his head. Niles explains that Frasier is probably just nervous about a job interview he has that day, so Frasier decides to attend the event with Roz as his date.
Unfortunately, Frasier’s interview with the president of KJMC radio is a disaster from start to finish, and he leaves the meeting feeling even more defeated by his “curse.” At home, Frasier tries to forget his troubles by cleaning the oven and volunteering to return a case of cheap dog food to the supermarket for Martin.
Outside the store, Frasier is appalled when a customer throws away recyclable cans. But when Frasier reaches into the trash to return the cans to the store, a former classmate assumes Frasier is homeless and humiliates him by giving Frasier money. To cheer his son up, Martin fabricates a story that Frasier’s agent called to offer him a hot job. Frasier goes to the reunion to brag about his new position, but winds up, as usual, seated with the class losers, the Chess Club barbershop quartet.
