Roz, a Loan
Frasier loans Roz $1,500 to tide her over until they get their jobs back, then disapproves of the way she spends the money.
Rumors that KACL may be ditching the new Salsa format and rehiring the talk staff comes as welcome news to Roz, who tells Frasier she’s strapped for cash. He offers her a $1,500 loan, assuming she’ll use it to pay her rent and Alice’s baby expenses. Imagine his surprise when Roz splurges on a day of beauty at a spa, and treats herself to an expensive lunch and shoes. Frasier thinks he should speak with Roz about her spending habits, but both Martin and Niles advise Frasier to mind his own business.
Just when Frasier is ready to confront Roz, she arrives at his condo to tell him that KACL is dropping Salsa and bringing back the “all talk” format. She also gives Frasier a lovely gift to thank him for loaning her the money in her time of need.
On their first day back at the station, Frasier can’t help himself and confesses to Roz that he was concerned about her unwise spending habits. She angrily explains that her spa date was a gift from her mother, the lunch was paid for by a girlfriend, and the shoes were bought with a store credit. Feeling like a rat, Frasier pays tribute to Roz on the air and she forgives him. She also writes him a check for $1,500 to pay off the loan, then secretly scrambles to have Bulldog lend her the cash to cover it.
