The Late Dr. Crane
A fender bender sends Seattle’s favorite radio shrink to the emergency room, w here Frasier’s identity is confused w ith a different patient who later dies of a heart attack. After the press mistakenly announces Frasier’s demise, he decides it’s time to pursue the goals he’s been putting off. Among them: running the Seattle Marathon—a dream cut short when he sprains his ankle wh ile w arming up for his first jog around the block.
As part of his new “seize the day” mentality, Frasier encourages Niles to ask out Maris’ pretty plastic surgeon, Dr. Melinda “Mel” Karnovsky. Yet when Niles stops by with Mel to pick up a pair of opera tickets, Frasier senses that she is just as controlling as Maris.
Still, Frasier’s “death” motivates him to consider what changes he can make that will positively impact his future. For starters, he decides to pursue his pretty neighbor, Regan. Even though they had a disastrous first date, Frasier grabs a bottle of wine and knocks on her door, hoping she’ll give him a second chance at romance.
