Docu.Drama
After working on Frasier’s show for eight years, Roz is thrilled when the station gives her the go-ahead to produce a special on space. Frasier eagerly agrees to narrate the documentary, and assures Roz that he’ll enjoy taking orders from her for a change. Meanwhile, with Daphne away at a weight-loss spa, Niles wants to relive one of his favorite childhood memories by teaming up with Martin for the Seattle Kite Festival.
To Roz’s chagrin, Frasier practically takes over her first production meeting for the documentary. For his part, Frasier is frustrated when Roz repeatedly shoots down his valid ideas for the project. Fed up with Frasier’s interference, Roz tells him the show might be better off without him. At that, Frasier walks out, assuming Roz will soon come crawling back to him.
Instead, Frasier is stunned when Roz replaces him with legendary astronaut and former U.S. Senator, John Glenn. Back at Frasier’s place, Niles’ refusal to follow Martin’s kite-flying instructions nearly sends him hurtling off Frasier’s high-rise. Over at the radio station, Frasier tricks John Glenn into helping him prove to Roz that Frasier’s suggestions about the documentary have merit. Eventually, Roz and Frasier apologize to each other and make up.
