Forgotten But Not Gone
Frasier accuses Niles of being drunk with power after he kicks Frasier out of their wine club.
Re-elected as Corkmaster of the group, Niles prepares to deliver his inaugural address. Just then, Frasier bursts in to announce that he’s resigning from the club in order to devote time to a new venture: KACL’s “Wine Corner,” which will run at the end of Gil Chesterton’s restaurant review show. The news upstages Niles’ speech, which Frasier preempts in favor of his own farewell remarks.
Over at the radio station, Gil and his producer Lance are none too happy with Frasier and Roz for hijacking the last 15 minutes of their program to make room for “Wine Corner.” After the first broadcast, Frasier is disappointed that nobody from the wine club called in. Back at home, Frasier hires a rugged German woman named Frederica to supervise Martin’s physical therapy in Daphne’s absence. Within minutes, Martin is howling in pain from Frederica’s exercises.
Frasier is furious when he learns that Niles barred wine club members from calling his show. Niles admits that he was angry with Frasier for stealing his inaugural thunder, but bars him from the organization anyway. Knowing both sons are miserable about their spat, Martin tears himself away from a fabulous dinner Frederica prepared, and forces them to make up in front of the snooty wine clubbers, who ridicule the brothers as a result. The following week, Frasier and Niles decide to start a new wine-tasting group.
