The Bad Son
With his car in the shop, Frasier is forced to take the bus to work. The ride improves considerably when he spots a gorgeous blonde. She gets off before he has a chance to introduce himself, but he overhears her name (Miranda) and learns she’s the director of a senior citizens’ home called “The Colonnade.” Niles urges Frasier to “seize the day” and visit the site, using the excuse that he’s checking it out as a possible residence for Martin.
Meanwhile, since Niles’ wife Mel has forbidden him from seeing Daphne in public, Niles invites Daphne to view a meteor shower from the roof of Frasier’s highrise. Over at the retirement home, Frasier uses Martin as his cover to chat with Miranda and ask her out on a date.
The next night, Miranda tells Frasier surprising news: Martin has filled out an application to live at The Colonnade. Atop Frasier’s building, Niles accidentally locks himself in a stairwell, leaving Daphne alone on the roof. To Frasier’s relief, Martin confesses he only applied to The Colonnade so he could take part in the residents-only poker game. Frasier vows to spend more time with his father, while Niles and Daphne’s hot date consists of conversing through the locked door which separates them.
