The Great Crane Robbery
KACL is bought by Silicon Valley whiz kid Todd Peterson. Fortunately for Frasier, Todd’s a huge fan of his show. In fact, the young mogul eagerly seeks Frasier’s advice on everything from clothes to wine, and even purchases a condo in his building. Aside from being flattered by Todd’s attention, Frasier hopes he’ll follow through on his promise to make Frasier “the biggest star on radio.”
To move his divorce proceedings along, Niles reluctantly agrees to “Phase II” of Mel’s breakup plan: playing the complete jerk in public. Frasier soon discovers that Todd’s idea of “decorating” consists of duplicating everything in Frasier’s home. For his part, Niles is having a tough time acting like a lout, even though he wants to expedite the split for Daphne’s sake.
While encouraging Todd to develop his own sense of style, Frasier realizes his condo is overdue for a makeover. Niles’ attempts to insult Mel’s friend backfire when the man thanks Niles for making him face his drinking problem. After several stabs at redecorating, Frasier decides he prefers his original décor. To his dismay, Frasier later learns that Architectural Digest is doing a cover story on Todd’s condo, lavishing praise on the look he “stole” from Frasier!
