The Wizard And Roz
Frasier is shocked when his mentor starts dating Roz, while Niles tries to debunk Daphne’s psychic abilities.
It’s Saturday in Seattle. While Frasier prepares to meet with his Harvard mentor, Dr. Tewksbury, for an informal therapy session, Niles and Daphne return from a morning workout. As Niles leaves for home, Daphne pleads with him not to stop by Café Nervosa. According to her telepathic vibes, something bad will happen if he does. To please Daphne, Niles promises to avoid the site.
At the café, Frasier introduces Roz to Dr. Tewksbury, who joins them for coffee, along with Niles, whom Frasier has goaded into entering the shop. Just then, Daphne walks in and is angry to see Niles there. He explains that he needs scientific evidence of her psychic powers, so Daphne vows to find a researcher to support her claims. Later that day, Frasier is aghast when he drops in on Roz and finds Dr. Tewksbury there with her, clad only in Roz’s silk bathrobe.
While Frasier fights to get the sight of Tewksbury in Roz’s lingerie out of his mind, a psychic evaluator assesses Daphne’s skills. Yet after hearing Daphne explain that her telepathy is part of her identity, Niles decides to abandon his quest for proof and just love her for who she is. Across town, Tewksbury suspects Frasier may be jealous that he’s dating Roz. Frasier realizes he does feel slighted that she chose an intellectual guy like Tewksbury, yet never opted to date Frasier. Once Roz admits she had “the hots” for Frasier when they met, his bruised ego bounces back.
