Don Juan In Hell (Part Two)
Diane, Lilith and all of Frasier’s past loves come back to haunt him after he dumps the woman of his dreams.
There’s only one thing stopping Frasier from pursuing a relationship with Lana: her ambivalence about reuniting with her ex-husband, Bob. Rather than make a play for Lana while she’s vulnerable, Frasier decides to do the right thing. He urges Lana to give Bob a second chance, without revealing that he broke up with Claire in the hopes of dating Lana himself.
Back at Frasier’s place, Daphne, Martin and Niles all miss Claire, who seemed like the perfect match for Frasier. They even place a call to her, but when she answers, they don’t know what to say and hang up without speaking to her. After Frasier comes back from Lana’s house, everyone chastises him for blowing it with Claire. Angered by his family’s lack of support, Frasier decides to take a few days off to clear his head.
En route to a cabin in the mountains, Frasier’s thoughts are “invaded” by his ex-lover Diane Chambers, and his ex-wives, Nanette and Lilith. Soon, even Frasier’s late mother weighs in on his string of unsuccessful relationships. Eventually, Frasier realizes that his lifelong fear of being alone caused him to create romantic feelings for Lana – that way, he’d have an excuse to leave Claire before she left him. Eager to put the past behind him and move toward a healthy relationship, Frasier returns home, ready to face the future.
