Frasier Has Spokane
Spokane radio fans rally around a beloved local icon – and against Frasier.
Frasier’s show is being syndicated to Spokane. To kick things off, Frasier and Roz will do their first broadcast from KQZY’s studios. While planning the event, Roz reveals she’s been dumped by her boyfriend, Roger. When Frasier tries to discuss the split, Roz claims she’s fine and doesn’t want to talk about it. Across town, Martin asks Niles to help him build a television table, which reminds Niles of all the negative childhood experiences he had working on projects with his father. At Frasier’s suggestion, Niles asks Daphne to assist Martin instead.
In Spokane, Frasier is ambushed by reporters who are angry that his show is replacing a program hosted by longtime local radio legend, Neal “Sully” Sullivan. Meanwhile, Niles is annoyed after he gives Daphne a hand on the television table project and she starts bossing him around as badly as Martin used to.
Over at KQZY, hostile callers insult Frasier and demand Sully’s return. Desperate to win over the audience, Frasier urges Roz to phone in, posing as a listener. Once on the air, Roz pours out her heartache over losing Roger, which causes sympathetic callers to flood the switchboard. Back at Frasier’s condo, Daphne admires the finished television table, and apologizes for bullying Martin and Niles.
