Junior Agent
While Frasier searches for a new agent, Martin searches for a way to refill a prescription without seeing his doctor.
Dr. Zach, a sexy rival radio shrink, is beating Frasier in the ratings. To boost his numbers, Frasier asks Kenny, the station manager, for more advertising support, but Kenny refuses. Frasier decides to sick his aggressive agent, Bebe, on the problem. When they meet, Frasier learns Bebe is passing him off to her assistant, Portia, so she can represent Dr. Zach. Feeling betrayed, Frasier storms out of Bebe’s office.
Portia mounts a full-scale campaign to win Frasier over, but he’s not interested in working with a “junior” agent. Meanwhile, Martin runs out of cholesterol pills, but hates the idea of going through an exam to get a refill. Instead, he lobbies Niles to write him a prescription, which Niles refuses to do. Over at KACL, Portia pesters Frasier to the point where he angrily dismisses her and decides he’s going to represent himself.
Frasier invites Kenny to his exclusive health club, still hoping to schmooze him into doing more ads. While driving Martin to the doctor, Niles is stopped by a cop. Martin agrees to use his influence to get Niles out of the ticket – if Niles will write him the prescription he needs. After Niles relents, Martin admits he set the whole “sting” up, but Niles reveals he merely doodled on the prescription pad. At Frasier’s club, Portia corners Frasier and Kenny in the men’s locker room, and convinces them that she can cut a hugely profitable syndication deal for Frasier’s show. Inspired by her enthusiasm, Frasier hires Portia on the spot.
