“Michelle & John”
A gilded mansion of the East Coast elite is the setting Michelle and John chose for their sophisticated seaside wedding complete with rich red flowers and décor throughout. The destination-wedding week's festivities kick off with a nautical tour of Narragansett Bay on a 101-foot schooner to welcome the out of town guests.
The next day, it's a ladies only chic luncheon the bride and her mother host at a New England estate. As the sun falls, it's time for more festivities. It's a century's old traditional clambake. But this is no ordinary seafood meal. Almost $25,000 will be spent to feed the guests their fill of lobster, clams and all the other side dishes on the historic grounds of the former summer White House.
Finally, it's wedding day and the guests are transported to the church in a private Newport Trolley to witness the bride in her glorious gown and custom made cathedral length mantilla veil marry her groom. She is also wearing over 20 carats worth of diamonds given to her by her parents before the ceremony.
Then it's off to the reception where hundreds of red roses, calla lilies and dendrobium orchids decorate the magnificent Cliffside ballroom, which was once the private residence of a titan of the nineteenth century's private summer residence.
Made to order meals are served on delicate platinum-rimmed china accented with the bride's favorite red-colored accessories. An eight-piece band and a Frank Sinatra act entertain the guests. The evening ends with a jubilant bride and groom pronouncing their destination-wedding week a triumphant success.
