Turning Two, Times Six
In the second season premiere, the Masche sextuplets are turning two! Bryan and Jenny can hardly believe that their once tiny, fragile babies — who spent the first eight weeks of their lives in neonatal intensive care — have grown so fast. And with the onset of the terrible two’s — times six — the chaos, stress and financial pressure mounts.
When the babies’ second birthday arrives, the family heads off to New York City to appear on CBS’ The Early Show. Traveling with one toddler is hard enough, but they’ve got six in tow, so Jenny and Bryan need the aid of Aunt Barbara and Grandma Laura to help keep the kids contained on the cross-country flight.
The family spends a whirlwind weekend in the big city, then returns home for even more celebration, while Bryan and Jenny discuss major changes for the family, including a new career for Bryan, and a move for the family from Arizona to Destin, Florida. They also butt heads over the long overdue completion of the playroom addition, and realize they need to get straight back to marriage counseling.
Jenny orchestrates a family photo in matching plaid outfits before the family throws a big birthday bash for the Sextuplets at Bryan’s parents’ home. Jenny presents each child with an individual cake created just for them, and convinces a reluctant Bryan to entertain the guests as a giant bear. Once he gets the furry costume on, Bryan hams it up for the crowd as only he can.
Like always, their lives are complicated, juggling kids and marriage as they struggle to keep it all together.
