Sex addiction reaches far beyond the actual act of sex and can include compulsive masturbation, multiple affairs, consistent use of pornography, engaging in unsafe sex and voyeurism. What is so fascinating is that the sex addict often gains little satisfaction from sex and doesn’t bond with their partners. So what motivates the addict?

In this edition of Secret Lives of Women we will analyze four female sex addicts. We’ll look at what they believe to be the root cause of their addiction and the great lengths they have gone to conceal what they see as their shameful habit. In addition we’ll examine their day–to-day life and how they feed their daily habit—whether it’s compulsively perusing the online dating ads, or leaving the kids behind to hunt at the singles bars. We will also talk to a recovering sexual addict and learn what steps she took to finally kick this sometime devastating illness.
